Introduction

CPQ Builder lets you put a guided product configurator on your webshop. Instead of a long list of fixed variants, your customer answers a few questions — pick options, or enter dimensions — and gets a clear price and a ready-to-order specification on the spot.

It is built for companies that sell made-to-order or highly optioned products: a curved conveyor belt, a two-manual organ, a cut-to-size cushion, a panel or a door. The more choices a product has, the more a configurator helps.

What you can do with it

  • Set up your organization — your logo, colours and fonts, so the configurator looks like your brand.
  • Invite your team and give each person the right level of access.
  • Build products in two styles — option-picking and parametric — without writing any code.
  • Publish a product: embed it on your own website, or place it straight onto a product page in your Odoo shop.
  • Let customers configure and order. The configured specification — and, with Odoo, the bill of materials — flows into the order automatically.

Who this manual is for

The people who run the configurator day to day: administrators and editors in your organization. No technical background is assumed. Where a screen needs a step-by-step, you get one.

How to get started

The first time, read the chapters in order:

  1. Your organization — set your brand.
  2. Users & access — invite your team.
  3. Products, then Option-picking products and Parametric products — build your first product.
  4. What your customer sees — preview the configurator.
  5. Publishing to your shop — make it live.

By the end you will have a branded configurator, live on your shop, turning customer choices into orders.
